Khattar again invoked the phrase of ‘Haryana ek, Haryanvi ek’ amid the Jat agitation that is being carried out in parts of the city

GURUGRAM: The Haryana government sponsored a cultural event “Voice of Unity” in Gurugram on Tuesday.

The grand event was organised at Tau Devi Lal stadium.

Besides musical and dance shows, the highlights of the event was the presence of musical band Euphoria and 51,000 school children singing the national song Vande Matram.

At a time when the peaceful Jat protests are being held across 19 districts of Haryana, the state government used the cultural event as an effective forum to showcase the unity of the nation and the state.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was invited as the chief guest at the event. There were also other important ministers from the state who came for the cultural event.

Speaking in context of the Jat agitation that is being held across major parts of the state, Khattar again invoked the phrase of “Haryana ek, Haryanvi ek” (one Haryana, united Haryanvis), and urged the citizens to not be exploited for serving political ends.

“A deliberate attempt is being made to spoil the unity of the state and create a division among the communities in the state. I will urge all Haryanvis to be one and work towards the progress of the state and the nation,” Khattar said.

Earlier, the cultural event got embroiled in a controversy after certain professionals from media threatened to boycott the event.

The media professionals complained that the Gurugram Police officials deployed at the event did not allow the mediapersons to enter the stadium and misbehaved with them.

However, the situation was brought under control after the intervention of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar who stated that action will be taken against the erring police officials.

In the past few months, various grand events have been organised by the state government in Gurugram. These events range from organising the first Pravasi Haryanvi divas to celebratory event for the fiftieth anniversary of Haryana.
