NDMC introduces e-health system in hospital
NEW DELHI: Taking the mission of Digital India forward and in order to modernise the medical department, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has implemented e-hospital — a digital way of managing hospital information. E-hospital would include patient registrations, emergency registrations, billing and accounts, laboratory (LIS), radiology/imaging (RIS), blood bank management, touch screen kiosk interface, pharmacy management, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), telemedicine suite, birth and death registrations, stores and inventory management.
The roll out of e-hospital has helped the NDMC in serving more number of people with the same infrastructure. Since its implementation, NDMC has witnessed 23 percent increase in patients’ visit. E-hospital is helping NDMC in extending modern medical facilities to patients through cloud-based integration system in a very well-organised manner. With the digital intervention, monitoring has become easier and effective leading to improved service delivery, NDMC Chairperson, Naresh Kumar informed.
Outlining the details of the footfall of patients at NDMC’S Charak Palika Hospital in Moti Bagh area, the Chairman said there is a considerable increase of outdoor patients visiting the hospital in 2016 by 23.43 percent as compared to 2015. The number of patients who visited it in 2015 and 2016 was 3,941,15 and 4,86,481 respectively. Similarly, the footfall of patients in the Emergency Department has also increased by 10 percent as compared to 2015. The number of patients who visited it in 2015 and 2016 was 80,205 and 88,154 respectively, he said.
