CREEDS OF OUR TIMES
The film is an unconventional biography about Paramahansa Yogananda who authored “Autobiography of a Yogi”. By personalising his own quest for enlightenment and sharing his struggles along the path, Yogananda made ancient Vedic teachings accessible to a modern audience, attracting many followers and inspiring millions to practice yoga today. Filmed over three years and at 30 countries, the documentary examines the world of yoga, modern and ancient, east and west and explores why millions today have turned their attention inwards, bucking the limitations of the material world in pursuit of self-realisation. BEAUTIFUL ILLUSIONS
The art show ‘Tantra’ will display works by several eminent artists. Tantra is a spiritual method or science focused on the nature of experience, in particular experience of the mind. The paintings on display burst out loud with bright colors and eye srtiking color combinations. The artists have used acrylic as a basic medium along with different mediums. HUES OF NEELANCHAL
In an endeavor to promote understanding and acceptance into society of the marginalized artists, Hues of Neelanchal – exhibiting nine short-listed artists from Odisha – endeavors to bring to the fore, the extravagant manifestation of imagination blended with the richness of multi myriad hues and expressions by some of the most gifted men, some of the inventive efforts of whom have never been showcased before. MARRIAGES À LA FRANÇAISE
With the number of marriages declining in France, this exhibition – by Arundhati Virmani, which will be inaugurated on February 21, traces the major transformations of the French marriage from a predominantly Catholic Church ritual to a civil ceremony to its more recent mutations. It presents historical and legal texts, photos, video and sound recordings, as well as material objects that are central to the wedding rite.
