NEW DELHI: A 24-year-old man was killed by bike borne assailants while he was returning home in Najafgarh’s Chawala area of West Delhi. The deceased, identified as Dinesh alias Mangu, was driving pillion on a scooty when he was shot at by a group of unidentified assailants.

The entire incident has been caught on CCTV cameras and the police are on the look-out for the killers.

The incident was reported on Sunday morning, when Dinesh was on his way home in Roshanpura after a game of cricket.

He was riding pillion on a scooty and was a few metres away from his home. In the meantime a gang of two men on a bike were tailing him.

Dinesh had almost reached his house when the assailants opened fire at him. One bullet found its way into his back, and he collapsed on the ground. The shooters then walked up to his scooty after parking their bike. One of the killers proceeded to shoot Dinesh in his head. “He was shot thrice. The killer had shot him twice on his head to finish the job after the initial one bullet to his back,” said a senior police official.

The police had received a PCR call after which they turned up at the spot. His body lay for a few hours after which he was shifted to the local mortuary for post mortem. The police are yet to establish the identity of the killers and are going through the CCTV footages to ascertain the exact cause of death.

The police are yet to establish the motive for the murder. His family claimed that he was recently involved in an expensive property deal.
