GREATER NOIDA: In a tragic incident, a 25yearold Delhi-based woman fashion designer was killed while two others were injured, when an over speeding SUV overtook them and the driver panicked. The Maruti Alto car in which they were travelling veered out of control and jumped the divider on the Yamuna Expressway banging into a Tata Indigo car on Wednesday morning.

The deceased identified as Archana hailed from Allahabad and was a fashion designer in Kirti Nagar, New Delhi. The other two passengers in the car were identified as Rohit Srivastava and Sunil Verma. Rohit was driving the car at the time of the accident.

“The incident took place at around 9 am near Zero point on Yamuna expressway. We were informed that a Maruti Alto car carrying three passengers had met with an accident. We rushed to the spot and found a 25-year- old lady dead while two others were injured. The injured were rushed to the hospital. The Tata indigo car which the Alto crashed into was carrying a Japanese man who had left the spot” said police officials present in the Police Van that reached the spot.

Sunil Verma, the deceased's brother, who was also travelling in the car told Millenniumpost: “We were returning from our native place Allahabad after attending a family function. Rohit, my brother-in-law was driving the car. As it was a long journey we decided to make a halt in Agra on Tuesday night and resumed our journey from Agra to New Delhi on Wednesday morning. Everything happened in the blink of an eye. When I regained consciousness I found Archana and Rohit missing from the car and they were lying in the middle of the road. Archana died on the spot while my brother-in-law suffered injuries. Rohit panicked as the SUV that overtook us was travelling very fast and he couldn't control the car, causing my sister's death”.
