Woman raped by four inside moving car
NEW DELHI: A woman has alleged that she was raped by four men inside a moving car after the men kidnapped her from Timarpur in North Delhi, and was later thrown out of the car in a state of undress in outer Delhi.
The incident was reported to have taken place on Sunday afternoon when the woman had gone to visit a relative in North Delhi. Police said that the accused, who are yet to be found, are known to the victim.
The victim was on her way to the relative’s house and decided to walk a little as she found the auto fare to be costly. As the woman was moving towards Jagatpur Road from Biodiversity Park, she was approached by four men who were in a car. The four accused were reportedly acquainted with the woman as they were from her village.
The men then offered to drop her to her relatives place. Not suspecting anything foul, the woman got into the car. The accused first began misbehaving with her and when she resisted she was raped by the men while the car kept moving.
The woman said that the four culprits took turns to rape her, while she was gagged and unable to raise an alarm, as the car kept moving at Outer Delhi and Rohini.
The men finally abandoned the woman, in an unconscious and undressed state, at a deserted field in Outer Delhi. When she gained consciousness, she then approached the nearby Alipur police station with the help of some locals. A zero FIR was then registered at the police station and the victim was sent to hospital for medical treatment.
The FIR was later transferred to Timarpur police station, the police jurisdiction where the incident took place.
“We have registered a case under relevant sections and are investigating the case from all angles,” said Additional DCP North Esha Pandey.
Sources in police said that all the four accused the woman has named are known to her. Police have recorded the statement of the woman, on the basis of which the investigation has begun.
Several teams have been deputed to collect CCTV footage to know the exact sequence of events and arrest the accused.
