The delegation of Delhi Fire Service Employees Welfare Association met with Delhi Chief Minister at the Delhi Secretariat.

On this occasion, they submitted a memorandum to Kejriwal and the Chief Secretary containing their demands. The Chief Minister initiated a point-wise discussion on all the demands.

Kejriwal has given assurances to the employees of DFS that their demands, including that of payment for the extra hours they were putting in, will be fulfilled.

“Please look into the matter and pay them the extra money for the extra hours as per the rules of the government. They must be paid for the extra hours they work other than their stipulated shifts,” Chief Minister told the officials.

Reacting on another demand for proper training by the delegation, Kejriwal asked the officers responsible that the employees of DFS be sent for the best training at the best centres.

“The demanded training must start from March and I ask the concerned officers to ensure the same,” said Kejriwal.

The Chief Minister also asked the Director of Delhi Fire Services to ensure that the employees are trained to use the equipment procured from foreign countries at the earliest.

Kejriwal further asked the officers to examine the demand of Special Vehicle Allowance hike and get back to him.

On the shortage of staff, the Chief Minister asked the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and Director Fire to quicken the recruitment process so that the extra burden on the staff can be lifted. He asked them to ensure recruitments are done as soon as possible.
