EX-IGIA employee held for duping people for jobs

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police have busted a racket and arrested two conmen who cheated people on the pretext of offering them lucrative jobs at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Police received a complaint that some men duped a man from Chitoor, Andhra Pradesh of Rs 80,000 on the pretext of providing him a job with Air India at IGI. The unsuspecting man fell for it and paid the entire sum. To win the confidence of their targets, the gang used to conduct fake interviews and the victim thought he was appearing for a genuine one. However, after taking his money, the gang stopped answering the victim’s phone calls. Soon, he realised he had been cheated and informed the police. Several teams were formed and the location was scanned where the fake interview was held. “Investigation led us to one Kamal Arora, a former employee of IGI Airport and his partner-in-crime Ansul Mishra, a job consultant. Both have been arrested and we are investigating how many more have fallen in their trap,” said Sanjay Bhatia, DCP, IGIA. NEW DELHI: A 27-year-old man was killed in a road accident when his scooty rammed against a DTC bus in Southeast Delhi’s Moolchand area early Wednesday morning.

The deceased, identified as Dileep, was a resident of Defence Colony and belonged to Rajasthan. He was on his way to his workplace when the accident took place.

According to police, Dileep was hit by a DTC bus at Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, opposite Honda showroom around 8 am. As the victim slowed his vehicle, the speeding bus driver came and hit him from behind, following which he was thrown off his scooter. Dileep sustained severe injuries to his head.

One of the passers-by, who witnessed the incident, made a PCR call. Soon after, policemen reached the spot and rushed the man to a nearby hospital, where he died during treatment due to excessive bleeding.

The accused driver has fled the spot and efforts are on to trace his whereabouts.
