A week of Indie art in Delhi

expression­s rarely get a chance to come together under one roof but the Indie Art Week (IAW) seeks to change that. In its debut edition IAW will showcase a host of art forms – ranging from an eclectic mix of music, films, theatre, photograph­y, visual arts and comedy among others – across 6 venues in the national Capital including Summer House Cafe, Bandstand, Khoj Arts Gallery, Dhan Mill Compound Warehouses, Auro and Annagram Architects .

The festival will feature 100+ artists over a week in 7 different showcases namely: ‘IAW Viewing Room’ (Film Screenings), ‘Optik Lounge’ (Visuals Gallery), ‘Grey Area’ (Live Stage), ‘Spotlight’ (Theatre and Comedy), Drone Den (Sonic Art) and Bargain X (Installati­ons, exhibition and makers market), apart from a launch event with at Khoj and 2 massive

after parties for the participan­ts and attendees.

“IAW is a multidisci­plinary conglomera­tion of gifted individual­s. Our features and showcases will take you through a whirlwind of independen­t works and we aim to be a destinatio­n for discovery, as far as multiple Indie art forms are concerned. We also aim to promote collaborat­ive presentati­ons, through the festival which is spread over a week across some intriguing spaces in the Capital and this would possible be the largest multidisci­plinary showcase of original works by indie artists,” says Festival curator, Kulshresht­ra. Some of the highlights of the festival include an exclusive preview of the acclaimed Kuru Chronicles book 1, Jamblu Launch (Kartik Pillai, Peter Cat Recording’s guitar player - will launch his solo Album), Sonic art – a new age avant-guard art form.
