Creating moments on canvas

-

ARTIST ABHIJIT KUMAR PATHAK is all set to unveil his solo show titled ‘Mosaic of Mysteries’ artworks, thus creating small moments of life on his canvas. Curated by the famous critic and scholar Uma Nair, the exhibition will showcase 13 astounding and powerful paintings of the artist which are his recent works.

The National Award winner, Abhijit Kumar Pathak specializes in abstract art which has the power to open doors of imagination to spectators. It acts as delusional gateway to reach ones deepest thoughts and play with it. He gets easily inspired from the beauty of nature and the environment he is surrounded with. He is a versatile artist and keeps on experimenting with acrylic and different medium of art and draws his inspiration mainly from indigenous sources, using a range of techniques, colours and media which also includes worldly visual elements, incidents, issues and imageries.

“Shapes and lines and debris seem to brim and float. Textiles from far flung places become part of the canvas of abstraction. You gaze at it for a long time and then you want to close your eyes. As you close your eyes, colours and countless shapes, as well as images, rise to the surface. Furthermore, you

are consumed by all sorts of sensations, as if you are listening to music that you’ve never encountered. What is overriding is an indescribable sense of tranquility and comfort, as if passing time carries you to a peaceful and beautiful pastoral where you can sink into an abyss of quietude,” said Uma Nair.
