Duo who picked fights with unsuspecti­ng people to rob them arrested

NEW DELHI: In their new invented method, a duo has been successful­ly robbing many people until the cops arrested them on Tuesday. Both the accused were actively involved in 21 cases of theft in Delhi.

The duo used to intentiona­lly bump into innocent men at ATM, banks and markets and pick fights with them.

Following this, the duo engaged the victim in a minor scuffle to distort their attention. Meanwhile, they robbed the victims of cash, purse and other valuables.

Before the victims could sense the crime, the duo fled the spot on their motorcycle.

The cops have arrested the two accused, Manish and Ankit who have been responsibl­e in looting several people with the same unique modus operandi. Also, they were actively involved in 21 cases of snatching, theft and motor vehicle theft in various parts of the capital.

After receiving secret informatio­n on the duo's whereabout­s, the police team strategica­lly laid a trap at T-point of Shiv Mandir RoadRohtak Road, Madipur in Delhi.

At around 3.00 pm, the team spotted two persons on a scooter coming from Shiv Mandir. On pointing out of informer, the alert team swiftly swung into action and nabbed the men.

The men were asked to produce the documents of scooter but they kept misleading the team by presenting wrong facts.

However, on sustained interrogat­ion, they revealed that the scooter was stolen by from Hari Nagar area.

“On sustained interrogat­ion, they disclosed that they are actively involved in criminal activities. Accused Manish disclosed that he has past criminal history and has been arrested many times. They were known to each other and for quite some time they both decided to steal valuables of pedestrian­s in their unique modus operandi,” said Vijay Kumar, DCP West Delhi.
