Ramayana Museum: Yogi gives in principle nod for Ayodhya land
NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given in principle approval for 25 acre land in Ayodhya for construction of world's largest Ramayana Museum in the city. Presently, the world's largest Ramayan Museum is located in Mauritius.
“In a meeting with Ministry of State (Independent Charge) for Culture and Tourism Mahesh Sharma on Tuesday, the Chief Minister has given in principle approval for the land. Sharma is scheduled to go to Lucknow next week to finalise the deal,” said a senior officer in the Ministry of Tourism.
The ambitious project to construct a State of the Art Ramayana Museum in Ayodhya as part of Ramayana Circuit for Incredible India was stalled by the previous government on the issue of desired land. “The previous government was sitting on our files regarding land allotment,” added the officer. The proposed museum will cost around Rs 225 crore with auditorium, library, lights and sound show etc.
“We will create the facilities for three to four hour visit by a tourist. There will be stage performance of Ramayana each day by the local, national and international artists,” informed the officer. The Ramayana Circuit aims to interlink all the
sites which are associated with the life of God Ram. The project aims to borrow from Mauritius besides creating some unique features for the site to attract foreign tourists.
