LG reviews functioning of DDA’S Planning Wing
NEW DELHI: Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, who also serves as the chairman of Delhi Development Authority (DDA), in meeting on Wednesday reviewed the functioning of Planning Wing of DDA.
The LG directed that planning exercises should be enabling instruments for planned development of Delhi.
All plans must ensure that economic lifelines are considered as core for sustainable city development, Baijal said.
He further added that provision of services and social infrastructure must be invariably incorporated while making plans for redevelopment of areas.
The LG noted that since the Master Plan has to be a dynamic instrument, a review of the provisions of civic amenities as per the estimated increase in the population should be undertaken.
He exhorted DDA to develop social infrastructure such as sports facilities, green areas, biodiversity parks, flyovers etc to assist in the decongestion plans for Delhi.
