NEW DELHI: To woo voters for the upcoming MCD polls, the Delhi ruling Aam Aadmi Party has covered 24 lakh houses by 4000 teams engaged in door to door campaigning.

According to party sources, on an average 15 teams are being deployed for every ward which comprises 10-15 people along with candidates doing the door to door across the capital.

It may be mentioned that the AAP'S door to door drive was started in early March before the announcement of the polls. Volunteers engaged in this reached out to households as per voter list. Also, gave each household a candidate profile, AK pamphlet, and 12 questions survey pamphlet.

“There is one coordinator for every ward and one observer on 10 wards to monitor the campaign. 14 district incharges co-ordinate with ward observers and state teams,” said Ashish Talwar, Delhi In charge of AAP.

The survey pamphlet has sought for people's choice about the party which they think could make the city free of corruption and garbage. It has further sought for the party's name which people would vote for if the civic polls are to be conducted immediately. On response column, AAP'S questionnaire has provided options that comprise name of parties included Congress, BJP, and AAP.

“Do you know who is responsible for the cleanliness of the city,” asks the questionnaire or the feedback form.

“Do you know that MCD is being ruled by Bjp-congress since past 20 years,” it asked adding do they think that BJP- Congress have destroyed MCD during these 20 years and turned Delhi into garbage-pile.

The BJP has been ruling the MCD since 2007. The last polls were held in 2012.

The much-awaited polls will decide the fate of 272 councilors. While NDMC and SMDC have 104 seats each, EDMC has 64 seats.
