Gold delights at Akshaya Tritiya

THE “FESTIVAL OF GOLD,” city’s most popular five-day exhibition-cum-sale of gold/diamond jewellery, Indian gold coin, MMTC gold/silver medallions and Sanchi silverware, organised by MMTC Limited is now being held in the capital till April 29 at the community center of MMTC Housing Colony in Malviya Nagar.

The Akshaya Tritiya edition of the gold festival was inaugurate­d at on April 25 by MMTC’S CMD Ved Prakash.

“Purity and Trust” being the central theme of this exhibition cum sale, it is eagerly awaited by customers every year for its extensive display of craftsmans­hip from all over India alongside a wide array of value-added gold and silver items at affordable prices and assured quality under a single roof.

While inaugurati­ng the current edition of the gold festival, Ved Prakash, CMD, commented on MMTC’S efforts and enterprise towards serving the interest of customers by steadfastl­y delivering on its promise of quality, transparen­cy and excellence. The highlights of this exhibition are as follows:

INDIAN GOLD COIN: The National gold coin of India, otherwise known as “Indian Gold Coin” (IGC) was launched by the Prime Minister of India and is one of the three Gold Schemes introduced by Government of India. These gold coins are minted by Indian govt. Mint Mumbai and Kolkata from gold sourced from Gold Monetizati­on Scheme under the “Make in India” programme. The coins are of 999 purity with tamper proof packing, unique serial number and Bar code. The IGC is available in 5gms, 10gms and 20gms denominati­ons. The coins are embossed with the face of Mahatma Gandhi on one side as in currency notes and the Ashoka Chakra on other side. These coins are currently available in MMTC showrooms, exhibition venue at MMTC Colony and selected branches of Indian Overseas Bank, Andhra Bank, Vijaya Bank, HDFC Bank, Yes Bank, ICICI Bank and Federal Bank.

GOLD JEWELLERY: The exclusive jewellery collection offered by MMTC consists of necklace sets, chains, pendants, earrings, finger rings, bangles, bracelets etc. The Gold jewellery is of 916 purity (22KT) and hallmarked. It targets the modern age women and men. This jewellery is meticulous­ly chosen from each region of India. One popular regional specialty is light weight Matar Mala from Bengaluru (Starting 5gms) which has been made available on popular demand.

MMTC GOLD/SILVER MEDALLIONS: MMTC has its own medallion unit for making medallions/bars ranging from 1 gm to 50 gms in Gold and 10 gms. to 1kg in silver. The medallions are duly laminated and certified for purity and weight. The gold and silver coins are of 999 purity. The USP of MMTC Gold/ Silver medallions are its positive tolerance on each medallion in terms of quality and weight.
