NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has handed over the investigation report and footage from CCTV cameras in connection with the incident in which a pornographic clip was played on an LED screen at Rajiv Chowk Metro station in early April.

Meanwhile, in the course of the investigation, it has come to light that three yet to be identified young men are the prime suspects. Moreover, police are now tracing the movement of the three accused by checking the footage of the station, where they could have boarded the Metro train.

The obscene video was played on one of the screens of a giant video wall, having a grid of 12 LED screens, on April 9.

In a 30-second long viral clip that captured the obscene video being played on the Metro station’s screen, some commuters could be seen passing by it without noticing, while others were seen filming the video on their mobile phones.

A Delhi Police official said: “We have received the footage from the DMRC authorities and it is being examined. In the footage, some suspects are visible but the Metro authorities have not pinpointed any person. We will be speaking to them in detail and try to get more details.”

According to police sources, “the identification process will take time as the faces the alleged men are not visible in the footage”, but based on their physical appearance and attire, police are trying to identify them by checking the multiple footages of cameras installed at the other locations.

“Our experts are tracking social media updates to check, who uploaded the video first. Meanwhile, cyber experts are also helping us to trace the users,” the official said.
