Mianwali shootout: No leads even after two days

NEW DELHI: Two days have passed since a Delhi Police ASI along with two other men were gunned down in New Delhi's Mianwali Nagar, but the police are yet to make any major headway in the triple murder case.

The sources have also claimed that national shooter Amit Goel's relatives were also questioned in connection with the case.

Amit Goel, was recently arrested by the Directorat­e of Revenue Intelligen­ce for his involvemen­t in an illegal arms racket.

Sources close to slain criminal, Monu Dariyapur's has claimed that after Amit's arrest, Monu had a chat with Amit Goel's uncle Mohit Mittal.

“They had discussed about Amit's arms traffickin­g case. They were completely distraught by the shooters involved. Hours after Amit's arrest, Monu was gunned down,” said the source.

The triple murder case was handed over to the Special Cell unit of Delhi Police. The investigat­ors from the antiterror unit received the official case file of the case on Tuesday night.

The Special Cell unit was conducting a security review of BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, after his house was ransacked and his staff was assaulted by a group of seven men on Sunday night.

Following the high profile murder, the police had constitute­d ten teams, who have been combing the outer Delhi area for assailants. Sources said that around 40 people have been questioned so far.

Police said, the prime suspect is still Sonu Dariyapur. They have questioned his family and associates. Further, the investigat­ors are looking for armed assailants who are suspected to have been contract killers.
