E-GUIDE APP FOR TOURISTS
NEW DELHI: The government launched ‘e-guide’ digital application for tourist guidance on cleanliness of the monument, or any particular area through audio and visual assistance. Minister of Culture and Tourism Mahesh Sharma displayed the application while addressing media at the National Museum here on Wednesday.
The government is all set to install routers of Rs 5,000 in various places and tourists will connect their digital devices with the Wi-fi con- nection. Then the application can be downloaded from www. e3.eguide.net.in.
The application will notify areas and the measure of cleanliness at that particular area through notifications unlike telecom services, while travelling. The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to talk about fortnight long programme “Swacchata Pakwada”.
Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision on “Swacchagraha” the Ministry of Tourism also to form a cen- ter of cleanliness at the Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, Rajghat, the minister said.
Adding further he mentioned that different organizations are also taking part of the mission and with their support the center also in talks with respective states.
Among these organizations Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya organised series of activities on Swacchata and Allahabad became second museum after the Solar Jung museum to go for solar powered clean energy.
While speaking on this even the Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Narendra Singh Tomar also mentioned that the government’s another prime focus on clean drinking water, however he also admitted that sewage system in the rural areas of India is still facing challenges. “It is impossible to build sewage system in every rural area as a proper treatment plant is needed for the process. But states like Tamil Nadu and other few have initiated the process with NGOS in the rural areas,” the minister added.
The Centre has marked out tourist palaces for “Swacchagraha” abhiyan to celebrate the 150 years of “Champaran Satyagraha”. Four villages in Bihar, Golden Temple in Amritsar, Mahakaleswar in Madhya Pradesh, Kamakshya in Assam are among these places.
