NEW DELHI: The Delhi University's (DU) admission process for undergraduate courses which was likely to start between April 20 and 25 has been delayed by approximately two weeks.

According to sources, Delhi University is ironing out last-minute glitches, resulting in delay in admissions for academic session of 2017-18.

“We're still left with some work to do, including checking websites and servers since the process will be completely online. We need to make sure everything is in order and is functioning properly before we open admissions, otherwise it could lead to chaos,” an official said.

The official stated that they are not sure when exactly the admissions will begin but the administration need at least a week or two more.

Delhi University had earlier stated that the early start of the registration process is to stop the last minute rush at top colleges. Also, it would give applicants enough time to complete the admission process.

Despite the reports of organising the undergraduate admission in entrance mode, the university had later informed the Human Resources Ministry that the admission process will be conducted in old cut-off list system.

“If at all, there will be very minor changes, and therefore, we don't need much time to begin the admission process,” the officials said earlier.

Delhi University conducts entrance tests for courses such as Bachelor of Management Studies, BA (Hons) Business Economics, Bachelor of Business Administration (financial investment analysis).

For the 2016-17 session, the registration process started on June 2 and ended on June 19.
