4 killed after high speed collision in Gurugram
GURUGRAM: Four killed and six left injured after a Swift Dzire driver rammed his car into a Skoda car at Jhajjar road near Farukhnagar on the wee hours of Tuesday.
Three occupants of Skoda were killed in the incident which included two women, Ombai (55), Mamta (30) and a six-year-old child, Ninku. The rest two of the same car were grievously injured. The driver of Swift Dzire, Amit also died on the spot. The family members in the Skoda car were returning to their village after offering their prayers at Sheetla Mata shrine in Gurugram.
According to police sources, the crash was so horrific that all the four died on spot. “Over speeding by the Swift Dzire driver is the reason behind the accident,” said sources.
The post-mortem was completed at Gurugram Civil Hospital and the bodies have been handed over to their families. Meanwhile, the injured are undergoing treatment in Rohtak PGI hospital.
“It is very unfortunate. It seems that the driver of Swift Dzire got carried away and started driving at an extremely high speed. Meanwhile, the Skoda came in the way suddenly which lead to the deadly collision,” said a Gurugram police officer.
He also stated that the cops have completed all the formalities and are ensuring that the grieved families are left hasslefree. “The post mortem of the bodies has been conducted at the Civil Hospital and the injured are being treated at the Rohtak PGI,” the officer added.
This is not the first time that such deadly accidents have taken place in the same stretch. For long, the locals have demanded for set up of speed breakers in the busy stretch of Jhajjar road. Also, they have asked for traf- fic lights which are absent on the road. “Since the place is on the outskirts of Gurugram, most of the drivers feel that they can flout the traffic rules. As the road does not have any speed breakers and proper traffic signals, there is the lack of traffic management that leads to deadly accidents,” said Mahesh Yadav, a local resident.
