After meeting with Congress National President, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday met with the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The Trinamool Congress supremo on Tuesday had met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and the two leaders were said to have discussed the possibility of fielding a joint presidential candidate by the opposition. She is said to be leaving for Kolkata on Thursday.

On Wednesday, after an hour-long meeting between Banerjee and her Delhi counterpart Kejriwal, she announced that the two parties will ‘act together in the presidential election'.

“We are two political parties and when we met, obviously we spoke about politics and the presidential election. As I have said, we will act collectively,” said Banerjee.

Kejriwal's support to the Congress-led opposition nominee will be seen as a clear shift in the AAP'S stand, which has often opposed the Congress and its party leaders.

Meanwhile, BJP MP from West Delhi Parvesh Sahib Singh and BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Wednesday staged a protest near the South Avenue residence of Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee.

West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee was staying at Abhishek's residence, at the time of the protest. Earlier in the day, she met with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal

The leaders, who claimed to have been tracking Kejriwal for the last couple of days, said that since they failed to meet him at his official residence, they attempted to meet him at the residence of Abhishek Banerjee, the Bengal CM'S nephew.

Stunned at the behaviour of the BJP lawmakers, the Bengal CM said that BJP is unnecessarily targeting her party as there is no relation with their protest with the meeting place.

Banerjee also said that BJP is making all efforts to defame TMC and the protest by its members is a part of it.
