Compared to Haryana State Education Board, students in Gurugram fared much better in the CBSE Class XII exam, results of which were declared on Sunday.

Not breaking the previous trends, girl students performed much better than their male counterparts.

Girl students bagged the top honours in all the three streams, namely Science, Commerce and Humanities.

Anshika Pradhan and Nitya Chopra attained top position in the Science and Commerce with a score of 98.4 per cent each. Both students belong to Amity International School, Sector 46.

Scoring 98 per cent, the top position in humanities was shared by three girl students jointly.

These were Tanushka Lahiri and Simran Rawat of Delhi Public School Sector 45 and Saloni Chhabra from Blue Bells Model School, Sector 4.

“The results are slightly below my expectations but I am delighted to know that I have topped the city. I wish to be an Engineer. I have applied for entrances in various engineering colleges and am waiting for the results,” said Anshika.

While speaking to Nitya, she said, “The results have surpassed my expectations. It is an overwhelming moment for me. I thank my parents, teachers, and friends who have supported me all through.” She has secured 100 per cent mark in three subjects in the best of five category.

With two toppers coming from the Amity International School, Principal Arti Chopra said, “It is a proud moment for our teachers and students. The results will provide us with an impetus to perform even better in the future.”

The female students shared their aspirations. While Tanushka wants to set her own start-up firm, Simran wants to be a journalist.

On the other hand, Saloni wants to pursue her career in the Indian Administrative Services.

Showcasing immense courage, Mukul Sharma, a student from DPS who with zero per cent visibility scored 80 per cent marks.

He plans to pursue BA Honours in English from Delhi University.
