Delhi improves overall result by over 1 pc, Sisodia lauds students

The pass per centage of students improved by over one per cent in Class XII CBSE examinatio­ns, the results of which were announced on Sunday, with government schools outperform­ing private ones.

Class XII Delhi region pass per centage stood at 88.37 per cent, compared to 87.01 per cent last year. Shagun Goel of DPS RK Puram emerged as the Delhi topper with 98.8 per cent marks.

Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia congratula­ted the students for their performanc­e. “The results of Delhi schools are better than the national average and even government schools have done much better this time. The government had taken initiative­s to improve education system following which better result has been witnessed,” said the Deputy Chief Minister on Sunday.

The pass per centage in Delhi government schools’ was 88.27 per cent, while it was 79.27 per cent for private schools, according to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officials.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Sisodia took to Twitter to congratula­te the students on their performanc­e.

“Best of wishes to all students who got their CBSE 12th results today. Can’t wait to interact with you, the next batch in Delhi’s colleges! Last year Delhi govt schools had two per cent better result than private schools, this year it is nine per cent better!,” Sisodia, who is also the Education Minister, said in a series of tweets.
