‘LOVE TRIANGLE’ BEHIND TECHIE’S DEATH

- OUR CORRESPONDENT

Following the murder of the 23-year-old techie, Anjali Rathour, the cops on Sunday stated that ‘Love Triangle' was the prime reason behind the murder. Anjali was shot on her head in her residential society in Noida sector 62 on Wednesday morning by her jilted lover. The accused, BBA graduate Ashwini Yadav (24) had allegedly tried to kill himself with the same weapon after shooting Rathour but the bullet misfired, said cops. Anjali's parents accused Yadav of the murder, whose name was also mentioned in the FIR registered at Sector 58 police station. But, he was on a hideout.

“A Country-made pistol has been used to kill the techie. Yadav has committed the murder and police arrested him from his aunt's place in Mainpuri. The accused claimed he had been in a relationship with Rathour since September 2012, their university days. He claimed that the deceased had started seeing someone else and had been ignoring him,” said Arun Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police, Noida.

“During police interrogation, Yadav revealed that he wanted to kill the person who was coming in the way of our relationship but shot her in a fit of rage. Anjali was not the main target. Yadav got the country made the pistol from his home in Etawah. He met Rathour on Tuesday night when she told him that she wanted to discontinue this relationship. Next morning he came to Anjali's society and shot her dead,” added Singh. According to police reports, Yadav alias Shanu and Rathour were studying together in Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar in 2012. Ashvini was pursuing a three-year BBA programme and Rathour a B-tech in Electronics and Communications. The two allegedly knew each other for four years and were in a relationship. However, since January Anjali had been avoiding Yadav which annoyed the accused when he decided to take the dreadful revenge.
