DELHI TRAFFIC POLICE TO crackdown on illegal parking

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Traffic Police is soon going to whip out illegal parking in Delhi after reports of improper and unauthoris­ed parking of vehicles causing obstructio­n in the flow of traffic and inconvenie­nce to motorists and other road users in the areas of Sarojini Nagar and adjoining areas of Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Shivaji Stadium was reported.

In view of the above-mentioned problems, the cops felt it was necessary to control the unauthoris­ed parking of motor vehicles in these areas with an objective to ensure uninterrup­ted, safe and free management of traffic and safety of motorists and other road users.

We are restrictin­g the parking of all type of vehicles on some of the roads in Delhi, New Delhi by declaring the roads as “No Parking Zone” (except authorised parking lots) till further orders,” said Aslam Khan, DCP Traffic.

Sarojini Nagar area- G Avenue Road, H Avenue Road, 2nd Cross Road, 3rd Cross Road and Siddhi Vinayak Road has been declared as 'No Parking Zone' round the clock.

Also, Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Shivaji Stadium: Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Jain Mandir Marg would also be under the ‘No Parking Zone'. However, Hanuman Mandir Road and Road behind Emporium Buildings would be 'No Parking Zone' from 8 am to 8 pm.

The concerned civic road agencies maintainin­g the roads would be erecting the correspond­ing informator­y sign boards indicating the restrictio­ns in the area for guidance and convenienc­e of all concerned.

Also, the traffic police have prohibited the entry, plying and idle parking of HGVS, MGVS and LGVS (excluding 3-wheeled light goods vehicles) on Agra Canal Road from Kalindi Kunj to Faridabad Border from 07 am to 11 am and 05 pm to 11 pm, till further orders.
