School teacher booked for beating student

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police on Tuesday booked a school teacher for brutally thrashing a class VI student in a private school at Hazrat Nizamuddin in south east Delhi.

A FIR was registered when the parents of the male child approched police asking them to take action against the school teacher.

It is reported that the school teacher mercilessl­y beat up the child when the students allegedly fought amongst themselves on some issue.

When the matter was reported to the teacher, he called the boy and started beating him black and blue with a stick.

It is said that when the 13-year-old boy reached home, his parents were infuruated seeing the red marks on his back and wasted no time in bringing the incident n the notice of the police.

“We have got the medical done and the doctors described the injuries as simple and blunt, abrassions on the back. A case under section 323 has been registered against the teacher who has been identified," said DCP South East Romil Baaniya. GURUGRAM: Haryana state Director General of Police BS Sandhu who was on a visit to Gurugram on Tuesday announced that a special task force will be formulated to curb the sale of drugs and illegal liquor.

Recently, there have been various incidents in huge overhaul of drugs and illegal liquor being captured by Gurugram police. For long there have been complaints by residents that there has been no action by the police over open sale of drugs in various parts of city. On July 6, a 26-year-old youth died of drug overdose near Tigra village.

The top police official of the state also announced that there will be a second women police station that will be set up in the old part of the city.

He also stated that in times when there are rising incidents of cyber crimes that are being reported, a cyber crime police station will also be set up in Gurugram district.

Speaking on the women safety in the state, the top police official stated that though various measures were being taken by the state police to ensure that women feel safe, there is also a requiremen­t of change of mindset in the society.
