Five confirmed dengue cases in Noida

NOIDA: With five cases of dengue reported in Noida, the Health Department is said to be prepared to combat the disease spreading in the city. The senior health officials have directed the team of physicians at district hospital to stay alert and have also insisted people to consult the doctor immediatel­y if any symptom of dengue is witnessed in their body.

“Five patients till now have been found dengue positive. Three patients of dengue were reported from Kailash Super Specialty hospital in Noida while one case each was reported from Fortis and Apollo hospital. Their blood samples were taken and have been sent to National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for further examinatio­n,” said Anurag Bhargava, Chief Medical Officer, Gautam Buddh Nagar.

“The dengue fever kicks off during and after monsoon. Till now the situation seems to be under control but Municipal Corporatio­n needs to take proactive action for prevention of the disease. People should stay calm to fight the disease. They should keep their surroundin­gs clean and should take all the precaution­ary measures,” added Bhargava.

Out of the five cases of dengue positive patients, four patients hail from Noida while one hail from Delhi. However the doctors said that these patients have been found positive in the preliminar­y dengue test. Their reports will be cross examined by the NCDC for which their samples have been taken and sent to the laboratori­es in Delhi.

The health department has started the inspection of various suspected breeding sites in order to combat the roots of the disease. It has also started issuing reminder notices to various private and government organizati­ons to ensure safety and adopt necessary precaution­s at the work place and nearby areas to prevent spreading of the disease.
