MUMBAI: Actress Bhumi Pednekar says being a part of a socially relevant film like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha opened her eyes to several issues that are prevalent in the society.

The Dum Laga Ke Haisha actress says the film made her aware of the fact that 54 per cent of the population doesn’t have access to toilets.

In an interview , Bhumi says, “A very big reason why I did this film is because it opened my eyes to a lot of things. Toilet is a happy story, after the film you will have a sense of change in you. It’s not preachy, not a documentary, it’s a very entertaining film.”

The actress, who stars alongside Akshay Kumar in the film, says the movie addresses a larger issue of people’s mindset in the country. LOS ANGELES: Pop star Lady Gaga has got a subpoena to testify in Dr Luke’s ongoing defamation lawsuit against Kesha.

Gaga has been served the subpoena by Luke’s lawyers as according to them she has “relevant information regarding, among other things, false statements about Dr Luke made to her by Kesha”, reported Us weekly.

Shahid, who won the ‘Big Zee Entertainment Award’ for the best actor for Udta Punjab, spoke to the media on the sidelines of the event. Talking about the controversies surrounding the historical drama, whose shooting was disrupted for showing a romantic angle between Rajput queen Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji, Shahid said: “According to me, I have not shot any scene which has been changed. I think there were a lot of presumptions about the film, and people were presuming about the scenes.”

“The clarification has been given that no such scene is there in the film. I hope when people see this film, they will realize that the heart of the film and intent of the film is very good,” he said. “This country and the people who live in it, and specially the area we are talking about in the film, will be glorified. I play a Rajput king and my character, I feel, will be admired by people.”

Padmavati is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Shahid is happy about collaborating with him for the first time. “It’s a very big film, very intense, romantic and I look forward to the film for various reasons. I think it’s a labour of love for

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is a comment on the mindset that people have. In rural India, people think if they have a kitchen or a temple in their house, they can’t have a bathroom. That’s such a hypocrisy.

“You are okay with women exposing themselves to the entire world but won’t have a bathroom in your house because there is a temple and a kitchen,” says the actress.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha sees Akshay in the lead role of a man whose wife leaves him after discovering that there is no toilet in his house. He then sets out on a mission to win her back by building a toilet. The 28-year-old actress feels feminism can help bring awareness about these issues at grassroot levels and says

“In connection with Dr Luke’s defamation claims against Kesha, various third parties are being deposed by both sides, including celebrities,” the lawyers said.

“This motion has become necessary because Dr Luke’s counsel has not been able to obtain, despite repeated request, a deposition date from Lady Gaga.” The ‘TIK TOK’ singer has been locked in a legal Mr Bhansali. I had gone mad on Twitter after watching his last film (Bajirao Mastani), appreciating everyone, and never knew that I will be part of his (Bhansali’s) next film,” Shahid said.

“So, it’s awesome to be working with someone whose work I have admired in the recent past. The film (Padmavati) has a great cast and going to be a huge film. I am really excited, but I want to underplay it, so I am trying to do that right now,” said the Haider actor.

Padmavati also stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padulone and Aditi Rao Hydari in key roles. although women have been suppressed for generations, things are slowly changing.

“Feminism is not an urban concept. Unfortunately, in India we have seen suppression of women but things are changing. “Our film is inspired by a series of real-life events where women have said no to marriage because there was no toilet in the house. Slowly and steadily, women are getting the courage to stand up for their rights.” Bhumi says the film will bring about a change in people.

“I have so much faith in the film yes you are going to be entertained but there will be a change too, you’ll stand up for your rights,” says the actress.

The film is scheduled to release on August 11. battle with Dr Luke since 2014. In her filings, Kesha accused the music producer of being sexually, physically and mentally abusive towards her.

However, Dr Luke denied all the accusations and filed a defamation suit against her. In August 2016, Kesha, 30, dropped a separate sexual assault lawsuit against him. Again, exciting... As an actor you go where the great roles are,” she says.

She adds, “Would I love to do more TV? Absolutely.” SHE’S one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed (and dramatic) actors. But there’s one type of movie role Nicole Kidman is still yet to nail — and that’s comedy. Kidman says she is looking to tackle a more humorous role.

“I would love to be able to do a comedy. I never get offered them. I always get offered dramas. In this stage of my life, I am so up for anything. I’m willing to fall flat on my face. I know how to get back up again. I’m willing to get back up again.”

Nicole Kidman played the character of Celeste Wright in Big little lies. Her performance was critically acclaimed and she received her second Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie. and respect you all have shown for Indu Sarkar. It’s extremely encouraging for an actor when his audience reacts so positively,” Neil tweeted. Indu Sarkar’ has been my most daring role yet,” said Neil, who has earlier featured in films like Johnny Gaddaar, New York, Wazir and Jail. “With this you have instilled the faith in me that I should forge ahead and take up even bigger challenges as an actor. I am ready,” he added. Indu Sarkar is political thriller film, set in the Emergency period of 1975-1977 in India.
