DU announces special drive for reserved candidates

NEW DELHI: The University of Delhi (DU) is all set to initiate a special drive for reserved categories admission, including sports and extracurri­cular activities from July 31.

“DU had announced the special drive for reserved/quota applicant category (SC/ST/ OBC/PWD/CW/KM) including sports/eca for admissions to UG courses. Under this drive only such candidates would be considered for admission who are registered with DU, but are not admitted in any other college irrespecti­ve of the category under any cut-off list,” an official press statement said

Meanwhile, no fresh registrati­on will be allowed.

However, only correction­s related to the category changes would be allowed in the registrati­on forms, from unreserved to any reserved category (SC/ ST/OBC/PWD/KM/CW), sub- ject to verificati­on of original certificat­es.

The correction­s will be allowed only from July 31 to August 2 at Room No. 1, Conference Center, North Campus. The candidates must bring their registrati­on/applicatio­n form and original/ copies of relevant certificat­es. Meanwhile, the official statement said: “No further requests of correction will be accepted after these mentioned dates.”

“The sports category applicants who are not admitted in any college, their request for modificati­on in courses in sports/eca admission shall be permitted,” it added.

While the eighth cut off for the special category will be declared on August 3 and the admission process will continue till August 4, supporting the drive, the ninth cut off will be declared on August 7 and the admission will be start from August 8.
