GREATER NOIDA/NOIDA: In a relief to homebuyers of various housing projects across the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister Suresh Khanna on Wednesday assured that the buyers will get their homes soon.

He affirmed that within a day or two, the Uttar Pradesh government will announce its decision, keeping in mind the interest of homebuyers who have suffered a lot due to delay in possession of their flats.

The Minister also state that an FIR will be registered against Jaypee builders for cheating thousands of homebuyers.

“The government's sympathies are with the buyers. We will make sure that the homebuyers are not deprived. We have noted down all their grievances and soon will come to a decision in favour of them. Strict action will be taken against the frauds and cheating builders,” said Khanna.

After Khanna's statement, homebuyers said that their hopes of getting their flats have been revived.

“The Minister's words have restored our hopes. The committee listened to the buyers' issues patiently. We feel and hope that something favouring the homebuyers will likely be announced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in his visit to Ghaziabad on Thursday,” said Indrish Gupta, cofounder, Noida Extension Flat Owner's Welfare Association (NEFOWA).

On Wednesday afternoon, a three-member Cabinet committee, comprising Industrial Development Minister Satish Mahana, Minister (Independent Charge) of Cane Development and Sugar Mills Suresh Rana and Khanna held meetings with builders and homebuyers at Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA).

The committee's aim was to finish the long prevailing woes between the builders and homebuyers.

Over 500 homebuyers of various residential builders' projects took part in the meeting, which continued for more than four hours. They presented their grievances in front of the ministers.

Apart from the three ministers, Noida MLA Pankaj Singh, senior leader and Dadri MLA Tejpal Singh Nagar and other senior authority officials were present at the meeting. NEW DELHI: The prohibitory orders imposed in the wake of incidents of arson in some parts of the national capital following conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda chief in two rape cases, have been revoked, the police said on Wednesday.

The police arrangements across the city, however, will continue, they added.

"Prohibitory orders under section 144 CRPC were imposed in 11 out of 13 police districts of the national capital.

After reviewing the current law and order situation, section 144 Crpc is being revoked," Delhi Police Public Relations Officer Madhur Verma said.

He said that proper police arrangements ensured that no untoward incidents were reported from the national capital.

However, additional forces shall remain deployed at sensitive locations, said the PRO, adding that strict vigil is being maintained.

Cases of torching of DTC buses and train coaches were reported from different parts of the city last week after Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted in rape cases by a special CBI court in Panchkula in Haryana, following which a high alert was sounded in the national capital.

Fifteen people were also arrested for their alleged involvement in the arson here.

Apart from the 15 arrests, a 23-year-old man was arrested for allegedly making a hoax call about supporters of Dera chief creating a nuisance in northeast Delhi's Harsh Vihar.

The Dera Sacha Sauda chief was sentenced to 20 years in prison in two rape cases on Monday.
