BJP party top brass set for rejig end Sept
NEW DELHI: BJP’S national president Amit Shah is all set to effect an organisational revamp later this month.
The rejig in BJP’S leadership structure would take place by the end of September, party sources said. The new team composition would keep the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections in mind. Few important Assembly Elections are due later this year and in early 2018, including the North-east states.
Meanwhile, party sources said that the ministers, who resigned prior to the third reshuffle will be given responsible positions. The names of Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Sanjeev Balyan and Faggan Singh Kulaste are floating among others.
Mahendra Nath Pandey, the former junior HRD minister is the new party president of Uttar Pradesh. Rudy and Balyan could be brought in as national general secretaries of the party, sources said.
The party can have a maximum of 13 vice presidents, 9 general secretaries and 15 secretaries. At present, there are 7 vice presidents and general secretaries each and 11 secretaries.
Political analysts feel that Amit Shah may prefer new faces in his party leadership.
The party sources claimed that some party general secretaries could be elevated and the party executive board would also be re-structured. The next BJP National Executive meeting is scheduled for the last week of September in the national capital.
The vacancies were created after BJP secretaries Sidharth Nath Singh, Mahendra Singh and Shrikant Sharma became ministers in the Yogi Adityanath government in UP. BJP national vice president Dinesh Sharma, too, has been appointed deputy Chief Minister of the state. He was the in-charge of Gujarat, which goes to poll later this year along with Himachal Pradesh. Jharkhand in-charge Trivendra Singh Rawat became the Uttarakhand Chief Minister.
