GANGSTER SONU DARYAPUR NABBED
NEW DELHI: Wanted gangster Sonu Daryapur on Thursday morning was arrested by Special Cell of Delhi Police from Narela.
The cops were hunting for him and also announced cash reward of Rs five lakh for his arrest who killed Monu Daryapur, his personal security officer and one more man in a shootout in April this year.
He was named as Satyawan Sehrawat but soon became infamous with the name of Sonu Daryapur when he stepped into crime in 2000.
He was wanted in more than 10 cases of murder, extortion, abduction, arms act, including the sensational 2006 murder case of Punjabi Bagh and April’s ‘Triple Murder’ case of Mianwali Nagar in Delhi.
At least six accused persons of this triple murder case have already been arrested by Special Cell on earlier occasion.
However, the mastermind, Sonu Daryapur, continued to dodge the police to evade arrest.
A team of Special Cell has been working for last few months to arrest Sonu Daryapur.
The teams were sent to different places in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh to apprehend the accused.
On September 13, a specific information was received by police that Sonu is in Himachal Pradesh and is leaving for Delhi.
The police team was deployed at strategic locations in cars and motorcycles to nab the accused.
Around 5 am, staff deployed on the motorcycle at Singhu Border informed that the Sonu Daryapur is spotted and driving a white color i20 car and heading towards Delhi from Haryana side.
The car was identified and was blocked by the teammates waiting in the cars near NIT road, Narela.
Sonu could not find any way to escape and immediately fired two bullets on the police party from his pistol, but luckily no one was injured. He was soon overpowered.
“He confessed his involvement in the murder of one Chand in Bhiwani, Haryana in the year, 2009 and murder of Sudhir Kumar, brother of Bhupender at Najafgarh, in 2009. He further disclosed his involvement in murders of Sanjay Sarpanch of Sonipat, and murder of Jasbir of Narela,” said DCP Special cell Sanjeev Yadav.
