GURUGRAM: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Haryana government on the anticipatory bail plea filed by the three trustees of Ryan International School in connection with the murder of Class II student.

However, the single bench of Justice Inderjit Singh did not grant a stay on arrests in the matter. The court has posted the matter for next Monday.

“The single bench has issued notice of motion to the Haryana government seeking its response on the anticipatory bail plea,” said the counsel for the Ryan trustees.

The group’s CEO, Ryan Pinto, and his parents, founding Chairman Augustine Pinto and managing director Grace Pinto, had approached the high court last week, seeking anticipatory bail.

On Tuesday, Justice AB Chadhury had recused himself from hearing their plea after he mentioned that he knew the Pintos personally.

On September 14, the Bombay High Court had rejected the anticipatory bail pleas of the three Mumbai-based trustees. The Pintos had approached the court after the school was accused of negligence in the death of eight-year-old Prady- uman Thakur who was murdered in a toilet of Ryan International in Gurugram on September 8.

Bus conductor Ashok was arrested in connection with the crime. The police have also taken against the Ryan management after the report by the three member special investigating team (SIT) indicted the school of glaring lapses.

Two senior officials from the management were also arrested. Co-incidentally, one held official Francis has also been booked earlier for the mysterious death of Devansh Karkora who had drowned in the water tank in the school branch in Vasant Kunj last year. NEW DELHI: In a “high voltage drama”, a bride-to-be and a man, whom she had secretly married earlier, were arrested on Wednesday after the woman allegedly stole money and jewellery that her parents had saved for her wedding, police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police A.K. Singla said the 23-year-old woman and Anish, 34, from Seelampur in east Delhi had secretly married in 2015.

But the woman’s parents had planned her wedding with another man and made all the arrangements for the November 26 event. When the woman’s parents were away on Tuesday night, she locked her younger sister in a room on the first floor of their house in Seelampur and called Anish and gave him the money and jewellery.

She later complained that two unknown persons barged into the house at night, tied her up and stole the money and jewellery.

She would then raise a hue and cry after discovering the stolen goods at her to-be inlaws’ house, which she would make a reason to end the marriage, police said.

“The accused thought that this will end her new marriage and after that she will get married to Anish,” Singla said.

Singla said Anish was married for the past eight years but did not have any children.

Police claimed to have recovered Rs two lakh and about 300 grams of gold from Anish’s house.
