Satisfied with BJP’S performance, says Chief Minister Khattar

GURUGRAM: Commenting on below par performance of his party in the recent Gurugram civic polls, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that he was satisfied with the performance of the saffron party.

“In a democratic process there are always setbacks. However we have performed much better as compared to the previous election. In 2011 also we had contested on the party symbol in the civic elections where we won four seats but in these elections we have consolidated our position,” said the Chief Minister.

Bharatiya Janata Party left no stone unturned to be victorious in the second civic elections which held on September 24. The only party to contest on 35 wards, it had projected the face of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to impress over five lakh voters.

Large hoardings in the city were being put asking the city voters to vote in the name and work of Chief Minister. BJP had its vision document on the MCG have highlighted its work in the revamping of road infrastructure and other developmental activities.

While there may be work that is being undertaken to improve the major city routes like NH-8, Sohna road and Golf Course road, there was amount of large dissatisfaction over the internal development of the city.

There has also been growing anger over lack of intervention by the state government towards preservation of Aravallis.

Even as the state government has signed a pact with the Chinese company to covert the waste into energy at Bandhwari landfill site there is still no certainty when the project will start.
