75-yr-old man found dead in showroom

Police found multiple injury marks on the body of the deceased

GHAZIABAD: A 75-year-old businessma­n was murdered with a sharp-edged weapon and was dumped in his cloth showroom in Maliwada area of Ghaziabad on Monday night.

Victim's body was recovered from his showroom and marks of grievous injures were found on his head, said police.

The deceased has been identified as Rajendra Agarwal who owns a cloth showroomsa­kshi Emporium.

According to police, Rajendra was absconding since Monday morning following which his family members lodged a complaint in Sihani gate police station.

Upon searching all the suspected locations his body was found lying in the gallery of his showroom.

“The body has been recovered and sent it for a post mortem. Multiple signs of injuries were seen on victim's body. It seems that he died after getting hit by a sharp edged tool on his head. We have seized the CCTV footage of the showroom and working from all the angles.

“There is a possibilit­y that the servants working in the showroom or any close relative is involved in the crime” said Akash Tomar, Superinten­dent of police, Ghaziabad.

Rajendra Family members and local market people informed us that he was a renowned businessma­n in the area and was not into any sort of enmity with anyone.
