NEW DELHI: In a major breakthrough, the Delhi Police has succeeded in arresting two bulk suppliers of illegal arms and ammunition, including the kingpin Kadeem from Jagatpuri.

Ten firearms, nine live cartridges, one empty cartridge and one black Pulsar bike used by the accused person has been recovered from their possession.

Keeping in view of the seriousness of use of firearms to commit crimes, efforts to nab the suppliers were made by interrogation of arrested accused persons, but they could not give any clue regarding the supplier of illegal fire arms.

A special team was formed by Delhi Police for busting the gang and arrest the culprits.

Delhi Police received specific information that a bulk supplier of fire arms in area of UP and Delhi-ncr would pass through Nala Road, Jagatpuri and will go towards Shashtri Park where he will have to deliver. A trap was laid and he was arrested on October 2.

“On sustained interroga- tion, Kadeem and Chaman disclosed that they used to supply illegal pistols and live cartridges in the area of Delhi/ NCR and UP and they have delivered more than 500 pistols to more than 20 criminals of Delhi/ncr and UP, including gang members of Pasonda and Namastey Gang of Mustafabad, Delhi.

“The present consignment was to be used for festival season by the criminals of Delhi and NCR,” said DCP East Omvir Singh.

Father of accused Chaman used to sell clothes in weekly market of Jaipur. About a year ago, Chaman came in contact of accused Kadeem who offered him to accompany him while delivery of illegal weapons and offered a cut on every sale of illegal weapon, for which Chaman agreed.

Since then accused Chaman used to accompany Kadeem in every delivery of illegal arms and while on delivery he used to carry a loaded country-made pistol for safety from police and other criminals.
