MAN STABS WIFE, JUMPS TO HIS DEATH
The quarrel between the couple turned ugly after which Jaswinder stabbed Heena multiple times
Karwa Chauth is a day when women fasts for the safety of their husband and long life but on Sunday, a woman was admitted to a hospital with multiple stab wounds inflicted by her husband in Rohini.
Police said that her husband, identifed as Jaswinder Singh, committed suicide after jumping from the fourth floor of the building after stabbing his wife on Sunday morning. The man died on the spot after the fall.
The incident was reported from Sector 16 in Rohini where Jaswinder Singh has come to meet his wife whom he married five years go but had a estranged relationship.
The couple had also started extra-marital affairs. On Sunday, when Jaswinder came to Heena’s rented accomodation in Rohini to meet her, the couple had an argument on the roof.
“He came to meet his wife where her 13-year-old brother and her sister were also present. He took her to the roof to have a conversation where the quarrel took ugly turn,” said DCP Rohini Rishi Pal.
In a fit of rage Jaswinder attacked Heena with a knife multiple times until she ran downstairs. The wounded woman then alerted the neighbours who called police instantly. By the time the PCR came, Jaswinder jumped from the fourth floor of the building falling on a parked car and died instantly. The police took him to the hospital but was declared brought dead. Another team of policemen rushed the woman to the hospital.
“Husband and wife have a four-year-old daughter. They were married five years ago. Husband was working as salepurchase agent privately and was living with his parents for last one month,” said the officer.
Shabana, mother of Heena said, “They had a love marriage but relations soured because of the drinking habit of her husband. The condition of my daughter is serious.”
The woman has been admitted to BSA Hospital where a team of doctors is monitoring her condition. The body of Jaswinder has been sent for postmortem in Ambedkar Hospital. The family of Jaswinder who is in Punjab has been informed by the police. The cops have registered a case.
