Six of Musa gang held for robbing man of Rs 17 lakh

NEW DELHI: Special Staff of east Delhi police cracked a robbery case of Rs 17 lakh by arresting six men of Musa Gang from Kirari Suleman Nagar. The accused had robbed two brothers who were on the way to deposit the money in the bank.

According to police the accused were identified as Sanjeet (28), Dinesh (28), Gulshan (22), Sandeep Ojha (24), Rajeev Mishra (20) and Navjeet Chaudhary (23).

On October 3, complainan­t Sonu Kumar reported that while he along with his brother were going from their shop in Mahalaxmi Garden Khora Colony Ghaziabad to deposit their amount of Rs 17 lakh to the bank.

“When they reached near Kerala School Mayur Vihar Phase-iii, suddenly a motorcycle hit them. On this, their bike got disbalance­d and they fell down on the road. Another bike also reached the spot to join the persons on the bike and five of them forcefully robbed their bags at gunpoint and using daggers and knife,” police said.

Additional Deputy Commission­er of Police (East) R.sathiyasun­daram stated that during the course of the investigat­ion, the team had developed various informatio­n regarding gangs of similar modus operandi. Technical surveillan­ce was also mounted on suspects and on Saturday police team got an informatio­n that the gang members are residing in Indra Enclave in Kirari Suleman Nagar.

Immediatel­y, raid was con- ducted by the special staff and six accused persons were apprehende­d from that area.

“During sustained interrogat­ion, all of them have confessed their involvemen­t in this robbery,” said R.sathiyasun­daram.

Police have recovered Rs 10 lakh cash of robbed amount, bank deposit receipts of Rs 1.67 lakh from Dinesh and Sanjeet. Other items like mobile phones, motorcycle­s, countrymad­e pistols, sharp weapons and one bag was also found by the police team.

Police claimed that from the robbed money the accused purchased protein supplement of worth Rs 28,000 for bodybuildi­ng and one Tata Safari second hand with new music system installed from the robbed amount for crimes by accused Rajiv Mishra.
