Paltrow, Jolie open up about facing
that she wants to support women who have come forward. Jolie had a similar experience to recount. She said in the late 1990s, she rejected Weinstein’s unwanted advances in a hotel room.
“I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did. This behaviour towards women in any field, any country is unacceptable,” Jolie told NYT in an email.
Many women, including celebrities from Hollywood, have come forward with their stories following the NYT article that chronicled almost three decades old hidden history of sexual harassment allegations against Weinstein, who has since been fired from his own company. Hollywood A-listers such as Leonardo Dicaprio said he applauds the courage of women who have spoken out. Ben Affleck, who also starred in numerous pictures under the Weinstein-founded Miramax label, including “Good Will Hunting”, said earlier that the reports “made (him) sick.” said this during the trailer launch of the film on Tuesday. He also spoke about his other film Fanney Khan which stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Rao was asked about his experience of working with Aishwarya for “I haven’t had the chance to shoot with her but had reading (script) and a few workshops sessions with her. There is a love angle between us which I am looking forward to but I am nervous for it, I will have to romance the world’s most beautiful woman,” explained Rao. The actor could be seen pointing his phone at the audience to capture the moment. But as it turned out, he put his phone in his pocket while Instagram was still live after he teased the fans at the event.
The audience present at the theatre, along with Ruffalo, could be heard enjoying the scenes, with the audio clearly audible to the ones listening via social media. It was around 8:15 pm that Ruffalo cut the live feed. It is yet to be known if someone alerted the actor about the faux pas or if it was a poor Internet connection.
Ironically, Marvel Studios had requested the audience members to turn off their mobile phones and had them locked away by the security staff before stepping in the theatre to avoid any piracy issues. Thor: Ragnaorok releases on November 3.
