his wife and has threatened to kill him and his family.

Verma claimed that he has been asked to drop the idea of “deshbhakti” (patriotism) and “not continue with my polygraph (lie-detector) test at Forensic Science Laboratory Delhi as a witness against Jagdish Tytler”.

Verma, who currently has three personal security officers providing him security as per the Delhi High Court's directions, demanded that his security be enhanced.

He has been undergoing the polygraph test at the government-run forensic science laboratory in Rohini here. He had alleged in his application before a Karkardooma court that officials of the FSL were holding a “mini trial” and acting in an “unfair and biased” manner.

The court had on the last date put up the matter for hearing on October 30 when the CBI will also provide a status report on the test.

The case pertains to the riots at Gurudwara Pulbangash in North Delhi where three people were killed on November 1, 1984, a day after the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. GURUGRAM: Worried over the deteriorating air quality of the city, residents of posh residential colonies and condominiums of Gurugram held a protest march on Sunday and demanded the district administration to take steps for the improvement of air quality.

Over 5000 signatures were also taken by residents from Sushant Lok, Vatika city, nirvana city, grand Arch, Fresco and Escape residential societies. These signatures will be sent to the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. The protestors had collected at a private school building in Golf Course extension road.

While Gurugram has fared better than its counterparts like Noida, Ghaziadbad and even Delhi, the air quality is still hovering at extremely unhealthy levels. On Sunday, the particulate matters of 2.5 microns was recorded at 200 micrograms per cubic metre way above the prescribed limit of 60.

At a time when the air of Gurugram along with rest of the Delhi-ncr regions is deteriorating, the district administration has begun to take steps to tackle the toxic air levels.

The challenges however for them gets heightened because of inadequate infrastructure in form of lack of parking spaces, pollution under control (PUC) centres, public transport and effective waste segregation system.

Pollution from construction materials, roadside dust and vehicular discharge are major reasons for spiralling levels of air pollution in the city.
