CAS brainstorm on state-of-art financial & technical trends in chartered accountancy
KOLKATA: Vitta Salahkar Chartered Accountants Study Circle of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India organised a Full Day Seminar at Hotel Lalit Great Eastern,kolkata on the title “Abhudyay Bharat-role of Chartered Accountans”.
Gst,benami Transactions, Professional opportunities for Chartered Accountants and Role of National Company Law Tribunals were the topics of discussion during the event which were attended by more than 450 delegates.
CA Satyanarayan Agarwal, Convenor of the Study Circle welcome all the delegates.ca Dilip Parmanandka, Dy Convenor informed about the study Circle and said this study Circle got the best Study Circle in the Eastern Region.the Chief Guest of the event was CA K K Seksaria, Managing Director of Uma Plastics Limited. He emphasised on the need of simplification in the taxation system.
CA Manish Goyal, Chiarman from EIRC of ICAI was also deliberated in the inaugural session. CA Ranjeet Kr Agarwal, Central Council Member of ICAI and Chairman of the Conference Committee deliberated on various reforms taking place in the Country and how Chartered Accountants can play a significant role in the implementation of these reforms. He said that CAS are playing a crucial role in the growth of the economy and huge Professional opportunities are there for them.
He also chaired the 1st Technical Session. CA Ashok Batra from Delhi deliberated on various crucial aspects of point of supply,classification and filing of GST Returns. CS Vinod Kothari dwelt upon Significance of National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and how these are reducing the burden of judiciry to some extent and CAS have great Professional Opportunities in this area.2nd Technical session was chaired by CA Lal Babu Chourasia.
At the end Dr Girish Ahuja from Delhi delibetared on Benami Transactions and he discussed in details as this law was well planned to be implemented before demonetisation and notified on 1st November,2017 just one week before Demonetisation.

NEW DELHI: Petronet LNG Ltd, India's biggest gas importer, on Thursday reported its highest ever quarterly net profit on the back of processing record volumes of gas.
Net profit at Rs 589 crore in July-september was 28 per cent higher than Rs 460 crore net profit in the same quarter of previous year, Petronet Managing Director and CEO Prabhat Singh told reporters here.
"We have beaten all records in the second quarter, be it quantity wise, profit-before-tax or profit after tax (net profit)," he said.
Petronet's Dahej import terminal in Gujarat and Kochi facility in Kerala saw import of 220 trillion British thermal units of gas in its liquid form, called Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
