Wanted gangster arrested, carbine machine gun seized

NEW DELHI: A fugitive gangster cum sharpshoot­er Salman alias Zaki has been arrested by the Anti Snatching and robbery Cell of North East District and recovered one country-made automatic carbine machine gun with five live cartridges.

The accused Salman is an active sharp shooter and is wanted in a sensationa­l murder case of a builder namely S.P. Singh for extortion in the area of Sahibabad, UP. He was also wanted in two other of attempt to murder case in which he fired on police officials in the area of Shahibabad to avoid his arrest.

Police gathered secret input that Salman who is an active sharpshoot­er and wanted in a sensationa­l murder case of a builder in the area of Shahibabad, UP and who had twice fired upon police officials to avoid his arrest would come behind tent wala school, Jafrabad, Delhi in the evening of 18 December This informatio­n was further developed by police who laid a trap behind tent wala school, Jafrabad, Delhi at and near the expected place of his arrival. The hard work and smart working of the team bore with the result when the team apprehende­d Salman with a sophistica­ted country made automatic machine gun with five live cartridges after a long chase. From his personal search, one country made Carbine machine gun along with five live cartridges was recovered from the bag carried by accused Salman.

“In 2012 accused Salman shot a lady in the area of Nizamuddin when the lady objected him for passing urine near her house. In 2014, his cousin Shahid was murdered in his village and in revenge he had fired upon Arif and Sheru to kill them in a marriage party in a farm house near Hapur, in which Arif died on the spot.” said Additional DCP North East rajendra Prasad Meena.
