Education must enshrine important parts of Constitution: Sisodia

- OUR CORRESPONDENT

NEW DELHI: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday said that real quality education is one which “realises important elements enshrined in the country's Constitution”.

Addressing an international conference on the topic 'Excellence in School Education', organised by IIT Delhi, Sisodia – who also serves as Delhi's Education minister – said, “There should be absolute clarity among all stakeholders, ranging from education ministers to departments, parents and students on the importance of Education.”

He added that it is his “dream to see that all schoolgoing students get quality education.”

Citing his own example, Sisodia said the country's Constitution is always available on his mobile and whenever he faces any difficulty or hurdle in running the government or taking a decision, he goes through relevant provisions, which provide him inspiration to do things correctly and likewise for the entire humanity whatever is enshrined in the Constitution is a positive thing to follow.

The Deputy CM said important things enshrined in the Constitution, unfortunately, do not find a mention at public places, including police stations, prisons or even at award functions.

“But these are mentioned in school text books with a specific purpose, which all of us need to understand,” Sisodia told the audience.
