Govt to bring in new technical tools to augment I&B communicat­ions

NEW DELHI: In a major revamp and to strengthen the communicat­ion, the Government of India has taken an initiative to introduce upgraded technical tools in the Informatio­n and Broadcasti­ng (I&B) Ministry. Ministry sources told the

Millennium Post that the new system will be inaugurate­d in the coming financial year with the supervisio­n of secretary in the I&B Ministry, Narendra Kumar Sinha. “New technical tools are emerging every day and informatio­n officers should be updated. Thus, this new experiment will help in exploring new technologi­es and all officials are under training now.”

The technical tools include, ‘Automated Insights’— a software that analyses and generates informativ­e documents with data in a minute. ‘Wibbitz’—a web browser, automatica­lly generates video presentati­on from texts without any human interventi­on in just 10 seconds. “This new initiative will help people in better understand­ing,” sources said. ‘Hemmingway app’—a web-based applicatio­n helps in rephrasing sentences with more simple form for easier understand­ing.

According to sources, the ministry also feels that the attention span of readers is less nowadays. So, video presentati­on with simple sentences is an effective way to cater informatio­n intensely within seconds.

The new I&B Secretary NK Sinha wants to bring in new technologi­es for ease of work and reaching the mass with more effective way in less time, a ministry official added further.
