Timely police action saves life of Pak Embassy official

NEW DELHI: A Pakistani official who met an accident at South Campus has highly appreciate­d Delhi police for their timely action, which save his life on Friday.

Pakistan High Commission Protocol officer Mohammad Anwar met the accident after his car incidental­ly smashed onto a Haryana roadways bus on Thursday around 3 pm.

Soon after the incident, a team of Delhi police rushed to the spot and take him out from the driver seat of the badly damaged Wagonr.

“I deeply thank the Delhi Police officers who saved my life and took me out of the car along with two civilians. It was their efforts which helped me to timely reach hospital and undergo treatment,” said Anwar, who is still under Intensive Care unit for treatment.

With the impact of the collision Anwar, who was returning from the airport, got some internal injuries.

“His tongue got between his teeth which made him unable to speak for some time.” said a police officer.

After timely interventi­on by Delhi police the Pakistan High Commission has also issued a letter of appreciati­on for the Delhi police for taking swift action after the accident and saving the Pakistan's Protocol officer's life.

“We have registered a case under Sections 279 and 337 of IPC against the driver of the bus,” said a senior police officer.

A 17-year-old girl is feared dead, after she fell into a canal near Lohia Pul towards Meethapur in Jaitpur at South East Delhi, while she was travelling on a motorcycle, along with her father and brother.

The girl is reportedly still untraced and a rescue operation is on.

The incident took place on Thursday at 8.40 pm, when a PCR call was received in Jaitpur regarding one girl falling in a canal.

Police sources said that Kishanchan­d, a resident of NTPC Badarpur, was going along with his daughter, Soni, 17, and son Abhshek,18, on his motorcycle to attend a function at his elder son's Rahul's house in Khadda Colony, Jaitpur.

“As soon as they reached under Lohia pul, his motorcycle was disbalance­d and slipped due to broken surface of the road made of rusted iron sheet and

“Soni fell down in the canal through a hole present on the road. Seeing this, father of the girl also jumped in the canal.” said DCP South East Chinmoy Biswal.

Immediatel­y, a fire tender and team of DDMA was called on spot. Search and rescue operation was conducted by the team with the help of trained swimmers in the presence of hundreds of onlookers and local police team from Jaitpur.

However, the girl could not be traced despite their best efforts.

The father was rescued though. Search operation would be continued on Saturday also. NEW DELHI: In a tragic accident, a Delhi police constable posted at Delhi Cantt police station died after being mowed down by a speedy bus on Thursday. The accident happened at Dwarka Sector 1.

The constable, identified as Amar Pal Yadav, 42, died on the spot. Locals gave a call to the police but by the time the cops arrived Amar Pal had already died. The body was later sent to Deen dayal Hospital where he was officially declared brought dead.

The constable, a resident of Najafgarh with his family, was going towards Delhi Cant on his motorcycle at the time of accident.

As soon as Yadav's twowheeler reached Palam Flyover, he reportedly lost control of the vehicle and fell down.

Within moments, he was crushed by a speeding cluster bus.

Many onlookers gathered at the spot, but could not do anything as he got severe injuries on his head after the accident.

Dwarka South police registered a case and have apprehende­d the driver of the cluster bus. The driver of the bus is identified as Ramnivas.
