After rescuing 41 minor girls from the ashram of self-styled Virender Dev Dixit in Rohini, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) will inspect eight more ashrams run by him, reportedly located in Delhi.

Talking to Millennium Post, DCW chief Swati Jai Hind on Friday said that the Commission had requested the Delhi High Court for inspection of these ashrams, after which the court ordered the Commission to inspect it, along with policemen and two senior lawyers.

Jai Hind on Friday night inspected a building in Dwarka, suspected to be another one of Dixit’s ashrams.

“We came to know about eight ashrams, which might be in Delhi. We also believe that suspicious things would be removed from their,” said Jai Hind.

The three-day long raid at the Rohini ashram resulted in rescuing of 41 girls. Now, The Commission has assigned its sources to figure out how long the godman’s tentacles are spread.

“We want to know the condition of women living there,” said Jai Hind on Friday, adding that when she first met the rescued girls they were in a semi-conscious condition and claiming that they were preachers of the ‘baba’.

‘’They could not tell me more, as their condition was not good,” said Jai Hind. When asked about the origins of the rescued girls, Jai Hind stated they belonged to different states and also different economic backgrounds. “The high court has ordered Virender Dev Dixit to appear before the court,” she said.

She further stated that Dixit had told the victims that he is god and has 16,000 queens.

“We have seen the condition of 250 such ‘queens’, who were living in pathetic conditions.’ the girls were living in cage. Their lives were worse than that of prisoners,” said DCW chief.

On Friday, Jai Hind tweeted, “Baba’s lawyer hasnt provided details of 8 Ashrams till now. Why the secrecy? Anyways, we will definitely find out locations & conduct inspections. CBI should imm seal all ashrams of Baba. 150 girls remaining in Adhyatmik Vishwavidyalaya should also be shifted to Nari Niketan imm.”

Cops are assisting raids in the ashrams, with personnel from 10 police stations pressed into action. DCP (Rohini) Rajneesh Gupta had monitored the Rohini ashram raid.
