Man shot to death in broad daylight

NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old man was shot dead by armed assailants in Rohini's Prashant Vihar area. Police claimed that they are probing the case from all angles. The accused pumped in several rounds of the bullet in the deceased's body.

The deceased was identified as Ravi Bharadwaj (30), a resident of Alipur area. Deputy Commission­er of Police (Rohini) Rajneesh Gupta stated that there was a call at around 1.30 pm about firing incident. It was found that one Ravi Bhardwaj was shot by three to four assailants while he was taking food at a Chole Bhature shop.

The assailants fled the spot and the passersby made a PCR call after which the victim was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.

After the incident, an alleged CCTV of the incident also emerged in which three men were seen shooting on Gupta in a crowded intersecti­on of a market. The pedestrian­s were seen running away as soon as the firing started. The men then sat in the car and fled away.

The accused came in the car and started firing at the deceased. They did not stop even after the deceased fell to the ground. In the alleged footage, it can be seen that more than five rounds were fired at the deceased.

When asked whether it is a fallout of a gang war, a senior official claimed that right now they cannot say anything as they are probing the matter. The accused can be gangsters. A case has been registered in this regard.
