GURGAON: The CBI on Monday filed a charge sheet in a Gurgaon Court against a 16-year-old student in the case of murder of a seven-yearold boy at a private school at Bhondsi.

The charge sheet was filed before the court of Additional Sessions Judge Jasbir Singh Kundu, which is treating the juvenile accused as an adult for allegedly committing the murder of the child.

The details of the charge sheet are awaited.

The victim’s body was found with the throat slit in the washroom of the school on September 8 last year.

Earlier, the court had barred the media from using the name of the 16-year-old juvenile accused in the case and asked it to use fictitious names instead. While the seven-year-old victim was named “Prince” by the court, the juvenile accused was named “Bholu” and the school was referred to as “Vidyalaya”.

GURUGRAM: Nearly three months after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) made the stunning revelation that it was a 16-year-old boy who murdered a seven-yearold boy of the same private school, the investigating agency filed its charge-sheet at a sessions court here on Monday.

The document, presented in the court of Judge Jasbir Singh Kundu, extended to 5,000 pages and was brought in a trunk filled with two bags. The juvenile’s bail plea was rejected by the judge on Monday.

The charge-sheet formally indicts the Class XI student – referred to as ‘Bholu’ in the courtroom – of murdering the seven-year-old – referred to as ‘Prince’ in the courtroom – in the washroom of the private school in Bhondsi on September 8 last year. The investigating agency registered a case of murder against Bholu Section 302 of the IPC.

In a major relief to the 42-year-old bus conductor, who was initially accused by Gurugram police of the murder, the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) also gave him a clean chit by not charge-sheeting him.

It is important to note that CBI officials had not provided a clean chit to the conductor during the hearing of his bail plea.

According to sources, vital evidences of CCTV images, finger prints and testimony of teachers and students have found a mention in the formal document.

With the charge-sheet now officially filed in the Gurugram district court, the legal team of Prince’s father, expressed hope of a favourable outcome.

Ever since the shocking incident of Prince’s murder came to the fore, the case has witnessed several twists and turns.

Initially, Gurugram police had arrested the bus conductor, believing that it was he who slit the throat of the Class II student, after he was unable sexually exploit him.

Not impressed by the police’s claims, Prince’s family continued to be persistent in their demand for a CBI probe.

After constant pressure, the Haryana government finally relented and allowed CBI to take over the case.

However, even after the CBI took over the case, the controversy did not end, and Prince’s father’s legal team protested after the school was allowed to reopen before the CBI taking over the case.

A new accused in the case came to light after the CBI charged Bholu for Prince’s murder and stated that the act was committed so that the exams and subsequently the parent teacher meeting could be postponed.

A major blow to the juvenile came on December 20 last year, after the Juvenile Justice Board ordered that he will be tried as an adult and the case be shifted to Gurugram district courts.
