THREE DEAD IN TWO ROAD MISHAPS
A man and his niece were mowed down by a speeding dumper truck in Pul Prahladpur, while a four-year-old girl died after being hit by a truck in Narela
NEW DELHI: Three persons were killed in two separate road accidents, three persons died in road accident in different parts of the Capital.
The first incident was reported from south east Delhi’s Pul Prahladpur area, where a 44-year-old man and his 22-year-old niece were mowed down by a speeding dumper truck on Sunday afternoon.
In the second incident, a four-year-old girl was hit by a truck, when she had gone to relieve herself in north west Delhi’s Rohini on Monday.
In Pul Prahladpur incident the deceased was identified as Barrister Tiwary and his niece Suman.
Police said that they had received PCR a call at 3.02 pm on Sunday, following which staff from Pul Prahaladpur police station rushed to the spot and took the victims to a nearby hospital.
However, doctors declared the two brought dead.
Police said that the deceased were walking back from a relative’s birthday party in the area and were accompanied by another relative, when the speeding truck struck them.
The relative, Amit Tiwari, told police that the accident took place near the railway under-bridge on the Mehraulibadarpur Road.
The other incident was reported from Rohini district’s Narela area, where the fouryear-old girl died after being hit by a truck, which reportedly veered off due to ditches on the road.
The incident was reported on Monday morning when the girl had gone to relieve herself nearby the spot where the accident took place.
The girl lived with her family in a camp where construction labourers were residing.
“The deceased girl’s parents worked as a labourers. Due to ongoing construction work, there were several ditches in the road and the driver could not control the truck, which led to the incident,” said a police official.
The accused driver was arrested by other construction labourers near the spot and a PCR call was immediately made, after which the victim was rushed to the hospital where she was declared brought dead by doctors.
A case has been registered in this regard.
