Man and brother-in-law arrested for robbing bizman of Rs 3 lakh in Madipur

NEW DELHI: Two persons involved in a case of robbery of more than Rs three lakh rupees were arrested from Sec-16 in Rohini district, Delhi Police said on Monday.

According to police, the accused were identified as Parvinder (35) – who worked as a sweeper in Badli area before being arrested in a murder case – and his associate Vijay (45), who is in the property dealing business and was also previously arrested in a murder case.

According to police, on February 15, the Special Operations Squad (SOS) of Delhi Police Crime Branch received a tip-off that the two accused would be coming to Rohini Sector-16 to meet with their associates.

A raiding party was constitute­d, under the leadership of Inspector Mukesh Antil, and supervised by Shweta Singh Chauhan, Assuistant Commission­er of Police (SOS, Crime Branch), and the party nabbed both the accused from the spot on identifyin­g them.

Deputy Commission­er of Police (Crime) Joy Tirkey said that on interrogat­ion, both accused disclosed their involvemen­t in a robbery case at Madipur.

Vijay revealed that he had provided informatio­n that the victim Mukesh, who runs a footwear sole shop in Madipur, would be carrying large amount of cash.

“Vijay shared this informatio­n with his brother-inlaw Parvinder and recruited three other persons to commit the crime. On January 31, all five assembled near Sector-20, Rohini, on two motorcycle­s, reached Madipur and waited on the road near the shop for the victim. As soon as he turned on his motorcycle, with the bag containing cash on him, the gang began following him,” said the DCP.

Police said that Parvinder rammed his bike into that of Mukesh, causing him to fall.

The gang then fled away the with bag containing cash Rs 3.8 lakh. Efforts are being made the arrest the remaining three accused persons.
